Our mission

Why the Flag History Project Exists

The Flag History Project is an educational initiative dedicated to preserving and sharing American flag history through historically accurate flags and meaningful storytelling. Our mission is to help communities, educators, and institutions explore the people, events, and ideals represented by the historic American flags that shaped the United States.

Through expert historical research, visual learning, and American-made reproductions of historic flags, the Flag History Project brings the nation’s story to life in classrooms, civic spaces, and communities across the country. Guided by a commitment to historical integrity, American craftsmanship, and honest storytelling, we help Americans connect with the heritage, service, and civic values woven into our nation’s past

Problem

Why This Project Matters

Many people recognize historic American flags, but few know the stories behind them. The banners carried during the Revolutionary War, the Texas Revolution, and the early years of the United States represented real people, real struggles, and defining moments in American history.

The Flag History Project exists to preserve and share American flag history through historically accurate flags and the research behind them. By connecting each flag to the battles, leaders, and events that shaped the nation, we transform these symbols into a living timeline that helps learners, families, and communities experience history in a more visual and meaningful way.

How it work

Our Approach

The Flag History Project combines historical research, historically accurate flag reproduction, and storytelling to bring American flag history to life. Each flag we produce is connected to real events from the Revolutionary War, Texas history, and the early United States, creating a visual timeline that helps people explore the stories behind historic American flags.

Accuracy

Every flag in the Flag History Project is based on careful historical research. We study historical records, museum archives, and documented sources to recreate historically accurate flags that reflect the colors, symbols, and proportions used during their original time period.

Storytelling

Historic American flags represent moments that shaped the nation. Through researched historical briefs, digital content, and expert insights, we connect each flag to the people, battles, and events that defined American history and Texas history.

Domestic Manufacturing

All Flag History Project flags are proudly made in the United States, supporting American craftsmanship and manufacturing. Producing historically accurate flags domestically helps preserve the authenticity of historic American flags while honoring the tradition of American-made quality and the history these banners represent.

Long-Term Vision

The long-term vision of the Flag History Project is to become the leading platform for exploring the stories behind historic flags and the events that shaped nations. Through historically accurate flag reproductions, research-driven storytelling, and educational content, we aim to create a living archive that helps people discover the deeper meaning behind the symbols that represent history, identity, and culture.

As the project grows, new historical flag journeys will expand across different eras, regions, and movements, allowing subscribers to explore the evolution of historic flags through time. At the same time, we remain committed to producing historically accurate flags proudly Made in the USA, combining historical preservation with American craftsmanship and manufacturing.

Our goal is to build a lasting heritage platform where flags, history, and storytelling come together to help educators, families, collectors, and communities experience the past in a more visual and meaningful way.
