Bedford

The Bedford Flag was carried by militia at the opening of the American Revolutionary War. It features a rattlesnake and the phrase “Don’t Tread on Me,” signaling readiness to defend colonial rights. Local Minutemen brought it to the fight at Lexington and Concord. It reflects how ordinary citizens mobilized at the start of the Revolution.
